Prop-Aganda: Lifestyle Prop Inspiration and Ideas for Photographers

August 26, 2012

Here is the first post I am doing for Prop-Aganda, my new idea to give you all ideas for props for all different types of shoots. I will take photos of stuff I find out picking and scavenging and hope that it gives you some ideas for your own shoots. If you like something I recommend searching for them on Craigslist or Ebay or your local flea markets and antique marts (the ones where everyone has a booth vs the regular antique store usually have better prices)  Happy shopping and hope you will subscribe and check back!   I found these two cars at the Nashville flea market, one of my favorite places! It is open on the 4th weekend of every month and has I think over 1300 vendors. It. Is. Awesome. The car on the left is from 1959 and was $250, the car on the right was newer and was $199. I didn't buy either as I thought they were a bit overpriced and don't currently have a shoot I need them for. But I would have gone with the one from 1959 if I did buy one. I love how they look like they have faces. Perfect for a little kid that likes the movie "Cars" (who doesn't!) or even a newborn session. Would you want to paint it? I love the texture of the 1959 one, but also think it could look really cool painted turquoise and white with chalk paint and used for a unique little girl shoot!
